At Lairuela (accessible via https://lairuela.com), this page lists the ways you can pay, how your payment is protected, when the charge appears, and what happens if a payment does not go through.
Paying for a cardigan online should take less thought than choosing the color. Every payment on this site runs through a single gateway with one charge and nothing recurring, and the details are set out here so there are no surprises on a statement.
By placing an order, you agree to the terms below. If a payment question is not answered here, email us at [email protected] and we will be glad to help.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Accepted methods | PayPal, debit cards, credit cards |
| Card brands | Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover |
| Gateway | PayPal (PCI DSS compliant); no PayPal account needed |
| Currency | US Dollars (USD) |
| When charged | Once, at checkout |
| Sales tax | Calculated at checkout where applicable |
All payments, including card payments, are processed by PayPal's gateway, which is certified to the PCI DSS standard. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by card; choose the card option at checkout and enter the details in the secure form. Card data goes straight to PayPal and is never stored on our systems.
Checkout pages are served over SSL, card details are encrypted before they leave your browser, and PayPal runs its own fraud screening on each transaction. We see that a payment succeeded and, at most, the last four digits of a card.
The full order amount is charged once, at the moment you complete checkout. There are no deposits, subscriptions or later installments. Your statement shows a single line from PayPal for the order total.
All prices are in US Dollars and all charges are made in US Dollars. If your card is issued outside the United States, your issuer may convert the amount and add a foreign-transaction fee of its own; that fee is set by the issuer, not by us, and is not something we can refund.
Sales tax is calculated at checkout where applicable, based on the shipping address, and shown as a separate line before you confirm payment.
If a payment is declined, nothing is charged and no order is created; the cart stays as it was so you can try again. Common causes are a mistyped card number or expiry date, a billing address that does not match the one on file with the card issuer, an issuer flagging an unfamiliar online purchase, or a daily limit on a debit card. If a second attempt also fails, email us and we will check for anything on our side before you contact your issuer.
Occasionally a declined or interrupted payment leaves a pending authorization on a card. That is a hold placed by the issuer, not a charge, and it drops off on its own within a few business days. If one lingers longer than a week, email us with the date and amount and we will confirm to your issuer that no transaction exists.
Refunds are issued to the method you paid with, through the same gateway. The timing and the terms are set out in our Return & Refund Policy.
We update this page if the gateway, accepted methods or currency handling change. The date at the top shows the current version.
For a question about a specific charge, include the date and amount from your statement and we will match it to the order.
